How It Is

When she pushes, I pull.
When she cries, I surrender my heart.

When she says her job sucks, I agree.
When she’s had a good day,
I extol its virtues.

When she needs her space,
I’m the Invisible Man.
When she is lonely, my
soft whispers fill the void.

When she wants to fight, it’s
WWF all the way, baby!
When she wants to make up,
I know it’s going to be the best.

When she is nestled in my arms later,
sweet scent so compelling...
well, you know how it is.
