How Much Can A Heart Take

I feel lost in a nightmare
Only I stand here awake
Listening to a mother cry
As her son was lowered into his grave

She had stood beside his open casket
Screaming out in disbelief
'Get up son, Please get up! ! ! '
Were the only words she'd speak

And I wondered if he thought of her
When he picked up that gun
And took his own life
Her one and only son

How much CAN a heart take
before it's weak enough to break
Will we ever get past the emptiness
AFTER
The Angel of Death has taken away
our laughter! ! !
