Hunger

In my stomach a gaping chasm
In my mind a maelstrom of bleak thoughts
On my tongue a stuttering of incoherence
On my shoulders a weight that buckles limbs
About me noise and conflict, unmerry dance
Behind it only emptiness in a seeming blackness
And still, stillness in my heart. That knows
And lights without shadows the darkest dark
I am hungry for the memory of You.

A loving tribute to one deeply cared for and missed....as I put in a recent poem..'memories are something that never can be taken away from you.' On dark days they can sustain you and give hope...nice David. mm. :)
