I Am...

Poem By Leslie Alexis

I am the stain on the glass window
And the spilled ink on that canvas,
I am the squeaking sound at your front door
And every country on your atlas.

I am the bus that always is late
And the train that just won’t go fast,
I am all things both small and great,
I am the slow kid who comes in last.

I am the sound of a popped balloon,
A hundred times louder than bubble-rap’s,
I am a deathly Norwegian typhoon
And the kid drinking from rivers, not taps.

I am the quiet, but proper tenant,
The one who always pays his rent,
I am a scorpion whose stings like red-ants
And I am the good-for-nothing government.

I am the spoiled teen produced by Disney
And I am the red carpet in Hollywood,
I am the mineral buildup in your kidney
And the poem that no one understood.

...& Yes, I am! I am the myriad manners of misery's mode, the one that know's perspective. Um hmm, I am! .
a special poem Leslie! I liked it so much. supporting the way u think I must confess, me too I rather can call myself 'a bus that always late' than tell to the World how great I am. as sages told... 'u can be unfaithful to many ppl for a while or u can do it with few for really long time, but no one can deceive everyone always' once again thanks for the poem :)
a good imagery! nice you're!

Your Choice

The howling wind that has no life,
Seeks my own with both blood and knife;
But in my God I will stand strong,
And if It think it’d win, it's dead wrong.

All Things Lovely

Lovely things begin with the sunshine.
Her rays illuminate faces
So that smiles can be seen.
Her love so bountiful

The Decaying Green

Walking along the path I heard leaves break
Becoming like dirt under the soles of my shoes.
They, in their millions, epitomized beauty
And life, but now they decompose and wane.

Be Safe, Angel

The wailing tunes of the long lost child.
Her father’s ways the cause of her cry.
So many lovely young ones wish to die.
Because they know not love, tears fill their eyes.

I Am Christ's

In Heaven, at the right hand of God I’ll sit,
I haven’t been there, but my eyes can see it.
Adorned in righteous robes, I’ll stand by the king.
I will see angels flying with their angelic wings.

Christmas (A Sestina)

Christmas is here, Jesus to the world brought peace
Everyone is rested as kids spend time with family
Kitchens are ablaze, wives creating good ol’ soul-food
Leslie and Destra, await their turn, under the mistletoe
