I Am Slow Now

I am slow now
Slower than I have ever been
I do not push myself
As I once did
I rest and lie
As I never did before
I wait without doing anything
And wonder why I am not very guilty
About not moving
I seem to not care about so much
I once cared about
as if anything I could do about anything
would not really matter much
I am still alive
But I seem somehow to have given up
This frightens me
But here I am
Not believing
This poem I have just written
Will really change anything.

Being myself an old man I understand your feelings but we shall go on attempting to run faster.
Writing poetry can change mindsets of yourself and others.++10
