I Began To Live

Poem By Autumn Christina Adair

Have you ever been so low that you’re just… numb?
So helpless that you feel empty?
Surrounded by people but so alone?
Have you ever held yourself captive,
In thoughts that tear your soul apart?

Have you ever been a prisoner in your own mind?
Failed to pull yourself out of bed?
Watched as each day slipped away…slowly dying?
Looked on as your appearance deteriorated?
As time wouldn’t stop, everyone moved on

You couldn’t help but sink deeper into Satan’s lair?
Into the depression that concluded your existence?
Crying until your eyes rubbed raw and dry?
As all your muscles ached?
Have you ever had the chance to change and turned it down?
Because somehow the pain helps and keeps you alive
To the point where you’re closest don’t know who you are anymore?

I once, have felt this too
As I thought there was no way out, the light shone unto me
I picked myself up, dusted myself down
And instead of being alive, I began to live

There I Am

My physical expressions give me away
They triumph over what I want to say
I feel the wrath of my insane pain
Constantly contradicting myself at every turn

As My Eyes Close

I’m walking down a long, narrow, cold corridor
The hairs on my neck stand strong with each step
I see a dark, familiar figure waiting at the end
As I edge closer with caution, I recognise this person

Calm Before The Storm

Mediocre phrases, sting like frost bite
Waves of emotion run through my vessels
My system shuts down, my breaths descending
Raw skin around my darkened red eyes

Hurt Me Once Shame On You, Hurt Me Twice Shame On Me

His eyes whispered goodbye as he slipped away
My cheeks trickled, my heart turned black
Like a terminal illness he stole my life away
Emptiness laughed in my face and to the ground I went

Lost And Drained

I’ve loved twice in my short life
And I’ve been abandoned twice aswell
My little heart has broken down and it cant take no more
My cries fall on ignorant ears

Let My Family Have They'Re Daughter

I’ve loved twice in my short life
And I’ve been abandoned twice aswell
My little heart has broken down and it cant take no more
My cries fall on ignorant ears
