I Court You With Quinces

I court you with quinces,
Peach blossom and spices,
Tea bags and coffee bags,
Green salads and moly.

I court you with apples,
With sherbet and daphne;
A nocturne by Chopin,
A film by Fellini.

I court you with textiles
And bowls of patchouli,
With scent of verbena,
With lapis lazuli.

I court you with touches.
You laugh at my antics.
I breakfast on muesli
You breakfast on quinces.
