I Didn'T Go To Church Today
(August 19, 1902 – May 19, 1971 / New York / United States)

I Didn'T Go To Church Today

I didn't go to church today,
I trust the Lord to understand.
The surf was swirling blue and white,
The children swirling on the sand.
He knows, He knows how brief my stay,
How brief this spell of summer weather,
He knows when I am said and done
We'll have plenty of time together.

Our Little Church. I go to My Church for Love and Peace
Oh dear, how often I feel like this on our rare summery summer days! I trust the Lord will understand!
The best excuse I have heard of for skipping church today.
