I Do Not Rage Into The Night

I do not rage into the night
And my light is a low slow light
And I do not know really
If it is a light at all
I write
And I live
For many years I have written
Poems thank G-d still come to me
What they are and what I am
I cannot say
But the beauty of this day such a great great beauty
And the beauty of these greens and yellows and whites coming through my window
The beauty of this city now
This little country now
In its own way
An isle of difficulty and greatness
The beauty of all this now
Makes me wish to thank God
With everything I have in me
Which may not be much
Considering my age and ability
But is what I am able to give
In these quiet small lines of winter sun-time now.
