I Dream

Poem By rita francis

I dream of you
yet I know that you are gone
that your spirit is no
longer mine to behold
and caress in the daylight.

I dream of you
and see all that you did
for me in love was a
journey worth taking to
find myself.

I dream of you
and feel your gentle
touch go with me throughout
my day-guiding me
towards joy.

I dream of you
and imagine your heart
beating in time with mine
for all that the day
has to offer.

I dream of you
and feel a still small voice
saying 'I love you, work hard,
be safe.'... among the many
sentiments that I imagine you would say.

When I waken from my dream
I am blessed with the
thought of having met you and
encountered your love.

Simple Expressions

There are moments and places been
where simple expressions cannot erase
those tender lapses in life's tale
where one can rarely regale.

Voices

There I looked out and you saw me
a waif in search of a home
you gathered me up in your arms
and carried me to safety

Today

Today has brought with it
the promise that the hurt
will fade, the dreams will
subside, and the heartache

You Came

and found me in the midst of despair.

You came

Somewhere, Someplace, Planet Earth

From the red mountains, blue skies, and benthic valley's below
I searched for what to plan, nurture, and sow
