I Love The Way I Stink

I think I’m happy with my stink
The smell of a successful catch
The mixture of sea water and sweat
Raw fish smeared across my chin

I don’t mind dripping with stink
With mud from the bottom of the bay
With oil from my skin mixing with salt
Diesel exhaust swirls through my hair

Even with pay in my hand
I’m still here mainly for the stink
I love the way I smell
When I return home from the bay

No matter what I learn
I still long to be with you
The only thing I’ve found to love
I love the way I stink
