I Pity Those
I pity everybody who is Homeless and I pity every Stateless refugee
And I pity those who have a drug addiction these people they are far worse off than me
And though I do find life an uphill battle compared to them I ought not to complain
And to say the least it is quite disappointing when from others suffering some do stand to gain.
I pity those who have a mental illness their cross in life to have to live this way
Condemned to spend their lives on medication such price for living they do have to pay
And the terminally ill who will not live to grow old too soon they live their final night and day
We are born to die like every mortal life form and on how long we live we do not have a say.
I pity the victims of droughts and famines and the innocents of war zones who die young
Their names you won't see on a wall of honour their praises by the masses never sung
For many living life is never easy especially those who live in dire poverty
For one to grow wealthy many do grow poorer in the Human World of so much inequality.
I pity every have not of the World and the have nots nowadays are to be found everywhere
There are millions of them or maybe billions the poor souls of the bigger World out there
Through their life journey they do struggle onwards till to the scythe of the Reaper they eventually do fall
A tough old World to live in for so many and no such a thing as a fair go for all.
