I Roamed The Gravel Road...

Poem By Meghan

I roamed the gravel road
and the wooden sidewalks
dancing in the park
bare soles
splaying soul
the night was lit
the city sparked
the dirt town
was paraded with people
drunk, loud, paranoid
music vibrated for one
square km
till it reached the river
and pounded the mountains
I never wanted to be like them
I was afraid of that character,
the mindless body
absorbed in people and party
I feared the seed of unconscious
but walking barefoot
surrounded by the same sea
I realized,
I was not like them
this scene was foreign
and it was volatile
melting my soul,
ripping true perception
and pure intentions
