I Should Know
Poem By chuck Hurley
I who see you among and also around
To feel your love enfold and also surround.
Is it any wonder there are those who abuse
The ones who waste their power rather than use.
A parent who will first strike or scream
Denies the heirs love and living dreams.
The teacher who instills trepidation and fear
Rather than hug and console those so dear.
The clergy who speaks of damnation and hell
Instead of God's love to have and keep you well.
The professor to instruct and give forth of knowledge
To love each student and remind them of the human college.
The military of youth given into their care
A duty to perform but for others they must be fair.
Thusly into a life so many call a time to mature
Moments of love, caring and sharing; to be sure.
