I Stand In The Middle Of A Forest

I stand in the middle of a vast forest
Darkness fills every corner till you can't see
I am lost.
Not my direction, but my identity.
I'm searching for honesty
Searching for bravery
But finding misery
Finding Falisty
I don't remember who I am
Or where I've been
I'm searching for a way out
But...
What will I find out there?
In here
In my confusion
I have adjusted the way I live
I am confused
But I understand
Out there...
I don't know
I can't comprehend
I want to know who I am.
But will I like who I find?
I deserve to leave this misery behind!
But how do I know that fate will be kind?
I want to be me
But is who i am, not whom I'm supposed to be?
I stand in the middle of a vast forest
Darkness fills every corner till you can't see
A curse? Or a blessing?
So I ask,
Am I meant to be free?

This poem, I Stand In The Middle Of A Forest, made me feel the confusion of identity, the uncertainty, but the hopefulness also. I've felt like this at times during my life, and this poem really captures it in a very imaginative way. I look forward to reading more of your work.
