I Stay

Poem By Michele Weston

Late at night I try to sleep,
But I smell the whisky on your breath,
And feel the bruise on my cheek,
Why I'm still here I do not know,
Maybe it's because I remember,
When times were still good.

In the beginning we were in love,
You showered me with gifts and kisses,
We held hands on our walks every night,
I still remember when you got on one knee,
We both cried when Is aid yes,
Oh I remember it all when the times were good.

Tonight you came home yelling and screaming,
You left the keys in the door, bottle in hand,
I just prayed to God you left the kids alone,
YOu picked me up and threw me down,
Said I was no good and should leave town,
You left more bruises to cover it up.

When I walk through town people stare,
There's no secret in a small town,
I try my best to hold my head high,
But staying is weighing me down,
I wish I could figure out what happened,
It all started when you got a drinking.

In the beginning we were in love,
You showered me with gifts and kisses,
We held hands on our walks every night,
I still remember when you got on one knee,
We both cried when I said yes,
Oh I remember it all when the times were good.

In the hospital again, four cracked ribs,
Fifteen stitches above my eye,
I say I fell, I tell a lie,
When I made my vow to you the day we wed,
I said for better or worse I'd stay,
I guess that's why I'm still here and will stay.

Break My Fall

Please, break my fall,
Reach you hand out,
And touch mine,

Angel Eyes

Nothing to do but smoke another pack,
It's been a month since you called,
We'd talk int he middle of the ngiht,
In hushed voices so she didn't hear.

Come Back To Me

Come back to me,
I'd do anything,
To feel the love we felt,
To keep the dreams we had,

See The Truth

I lay in bed and pray,
That someday you will hear my screams,
But day after day,
I lie here and keep praying that prayer,

Fate

You can't fight fate
You can't fight destiny
No matter how far away you are
What's meant to be will always be
