If Houses Could Talk
I am worn and tattered
by Dr. Pattie Pendry
My paint is chipping away.
My boards are beginning to squeak
There aren't any children around to play. The grass outside is very tall
The weeds are plentiful too.
There is no one to cut the grass
Or show interest in what I do. I am a house sitting on a hill
My color was once white and bright
Now there is no one to occupy me
So therefore I have no more light. I used to be very happy
With a family that took care of me.
They would do much baking and
cleaning the floors, and the dog and
cat were happy as could be. Now I am sitting here, very very lonely
With no one to come and renovate me.
The bulldozers will come and push
Me down, and even get rid of the tree. Please put a for sale sign in my yard
For everyone to see.
Hoping someone will come and buy me soon
And then they will renovate me.
