If Only For A Night

Poem By David Blake

In a sad far off lonely place I
imagine you might have sat. By
the sea or in a vast plain
surrounded by a thousand wild
flowers bowing gracefully in the
gentle breeze. Perhaps in a dark
back room doing things you try
now to forget, or maybe even
amidst the symphony of sights
and sounds on a warm summer
night. My dream never begins the
same but always ends with you
if only for a moment feeling regret.
