Impasse

It would not be a violation of my will
If You were to take me now.
Just consume me; end this
Constant struggle to be
All that You want of me.
I fight, but weakly;
I strive, but feebly.

If You are the magnificent Power,
The Eternal, consuming Fire,
Just consume me. End this
Tug-of-war, when all
That I really want is to fall!
You call, but softly.
You beckon, but gently.

Bring power, bring might!
Bring whirlwind; the force of
Your will against mine!
Conquer, triumphantly! Master me,
Send me home changed
Into what I want, what You desire
Me to be. This is the shriek of my soul!

But instead, in that still, small,
Maddening Voice, You continue to whisper,
“Choose.”

Nice 'choice' of words throughout... very well done! Brian
Wonderful, wonderful job of capturing this personal, intense struggle between yourself and God-very truthful and self-revealing. Keep up the great work!
