Impractical Poems

I'm so obsessed with poetry
that I forget more basic tasks:
the garden usually looks shaggy;
the car's a mess, inside and out;
and I've never even started
countless DIY jobs in our house.

So there's a constant struggle, when I write,
between creation and efficient life.
