Imprisoned Love

Driving down this lonely road
counting every passing tree
feeling the weight of every load
holding me down, capturing me

Watching the sky turn gray
and looking into the night
hearing the rain’s spray
enticing my fright

Listening to my heart pound
feeling my tears stream down
there’s nothing here and no sound
spreading my empty love around

Seeing you, feeling you
so close and so warm
there’s nothing I can do
to keep my heart from being torn

Nice poem. Fear does strange things to the mind and body's reactions. Best regards-Mike Gale.
