Poem By Patrick Scott Hogg

When Winter's westlin' winds dae wail,
An' wild waves crash in blustry gale
Against the cragged rock:
There, at the Mull, amidst the foam,
Yer Spirit Dad, at rest - at home
Does gleefu', onward walk.
Yer brow unbent an' manly stride -
'The noblest work o' God'.
Noo Nature's strength an' honest pride
Lay still, beneath the sod.
10 years lang, ye hae gang;
Frae us, did sad depart:
Ay we, remember ye,
Immortal in oor heart.
