In The Garden Of The Mind

In a most special garden,
with reverence we seed.
Little by little, aerate and weed.
Nutrients added, with sprinkles
of water, to nurture a future
son or daughter.
Our time and effort produces reward,
if we but stay on guard.
From care and toil,
wisdom sprouts in rich soil.
The embryon develops and envelopes
potential which may burst into
the brightest thirst
for truth and meaning.
A child begins to figure things out,
ideas soon sprout.
Joyous responses to music and art
frees the spirit like a delighted shout.
The birth of a mind leads to growth
of its soul.
The gardener sighs, and the universe
fulfills its goal.
