In The Seeking Of One's Happiness

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

Do I suggest one has to witness death,
To appreciate one's life?
Not necessarily.
But the witnessing of someone close,
Going through it...
Makes the observer more aware.
And the quality of time experienced,
Shared with those we take for granted...
Is reminisced more than one expects.

And the mysteriousness,
As to how all this connects...
Becomes more not less,
Of a curiousity!
Leaving one to believe...
Life should be lived,
In the conquering over foolishness.
And every moment spent of it,
In the seeking of one's happiness.
