we should each seek to humble ourselves
and to sleep the sleep of children:

undisturbed by dreams and demons
untroubled by fear and worry
unburdened by guilt and shame

to awaken as we once did:
with eyes blinking and twinkling
still sensitive to the light
(but) with a smile on our lips

an eagerness in our heart
for the day ahead
and not just sleep weary:

relieved that we survived one more night
of dealing with our subconcious thoughts
and unspoken desires
