It's All Taken Hold Of Me

My eyes are heavy
full of sleep
my tears twinkle
when i weep
my face is pale
my lips are blue
i am who i am
i just wish i were you

my obsession with depression
has taken its hold
my addiction to self infliction
has taken its toll
i watch my blood trickle down the drain
i feel relieved from my pain
i hate my life
carved into my arm with a knife
once again my worries wouldnt fade away
and i dream one day will be a better day
so here i am
half one in the morning
25 years and far too many tears
and already depression has taken its hold
25 years
not many stories to be told
i think its fair to say
its time for my hand to fold.
