Poem By Linda Hepner
It's If that is the word
that makes one's thoughts absurd;
I taste the sweet or don't
I yield to sour or won't,
I'll go to hell or not,
I'll live or die or rot.
My pain will not subside
but won't last when I've died
which sheds light on King Saul
who said, Just end it all.
In reply to GWH Jams Today
If there is an eternity, you’re damned
in it, unless you set aside your sorrow,
and wait until you feel no longer jammed
today, prepared to wait for jam tomorrow.
In an article on the letter of Ted Hughes Craig Raines writes(TLS,11/23/07) that Ted Hughes wrote to Aurelia Plath: “But if there is an eternity, I am damned in it.”
