Joe Without Teeth

Known by the nickname of Joe Without Teeth
A friendly old bloke that I often does meet
A down to earth fellow unshackled by guile
He greets everyone with a broad toothless smile
Single in his mid fifties without children or partner or wife
But in his ways he is one larger than life
He says I do not have children though I would have loved to have been a dad
Though over what has not been no point in feeling sad
In his receding brown hair there are strands of gray
That time on him is showing only true to say
He is one quite partial to his glass of cheer
And on Saturday nigh with his friends at the pub he enjoys his beer
He is always happy in the pub's hour of song
And joins in every chorus of the sing along.
