(journey Inwards Collection) .... In This Enchanted Place

Poem By Janice Windle

In this enchanted place
My soul
Sheds its carapace,
Sloughs off the brittle skin
That sheltered my weakness,
Lays open the gate to sweetness and to pain,
Flays my tender senses
So that I cannot help myself,
I am myself
The gateway to another world.

Oh Jan, I understand these feelings so very well. You've written some blinding lines in her, esp. like the part about flaying your senses. The soul laid bare and allowing itself the pleasure of sweetness and pain, all at once we understand what it is truly like to feel alive.... Wonderfully crafted piece of poetry. HG: -) xx
How wonderful that you have found a place to truly be yourself, without the constraints of earthly tethers, Jan. You've described this 'feeling' so well. Love, Fran xxx
