Just Add Water

With just-add-water-to-your-life
some people manage to exist,
but like a flower every wife
needs more than water when she’s kissed.
All lives require lots of spice
provided in a lover’s quarters,
and when the spice is put on ice
love may be quenched in quiet quarters.
Instead of spices some add lime
for bitterness, prepared to savor
inevitable change when time
depletes the water of its flavor.

I enjoyed the humor dispersed throughout the poem. I enjoy romanticism interplay with words that you cleverly placed throughout, also. I give you a 10, Gershon. Excellent read!
