Kickball

Children of a Poor Nation

A poor nation
Indeed I saw
But the kids were playing
Kick ball.

Their stomachs empty
And their clothes all worn.
This was the troubled world
But they all lived on.

They continued playing kickball though
As if their poverty knew not know.
Their laughs and smiles
The rich ones did know.

Their laughs and smiles
Did all the light glow
Around them seemed
The same world you know.

All the world's children
Remained happy by nature.
It was their condition
That later changed their stature.
