Lady Oak

You can touch me - my trunk
has with age hardened

I wish not so - I would like
to walk
and see beyond yon walls of
fields.
There!

I will to travel everywhere
That I will see everywhere
and knowledge have of everywhere

And everything.

There - the cramped wall
cuts off my vistas
restricts me.

Yet in my brain
this small part of the whole
witnessing
will not be hurdle to my knowing
all.

The brain walks and soars as
the feet do
and more
the more it works
the more
it thrives in sacrifice

I soar, I say, without the need to walk.

'I assert, therefore, there be'
And my knowledge all round be
the same.
