Lbj Ranch

Poem By Marilyn Lott

He was our 36th president
For just a little while
And he had a cowboy look
It was his rancher's kind of style

His home was very beautiful
Inside and outside as well
It was such a wonderful place
For he and his family to dwell

Cattle grazed out in the fields
A river flowed right through
The best of country living
So fresh and clean and true

After his term of office
He didn’t want to run again
He loved his home and family
His life was about his cattle and them

And when he died, he was buried
At the home he loved so much
In a little fenced in place under the trees
With a wide-open country touch.
