Lighthouse

I feel afraid when
the sea crashes
into my expectations...

My fears and doubts... they
ebb and flow, like the shore line
not too distant from me.

I’m still not certain
what to do, but the
need to do something,
anything, pulls me
away from the shore.

My ship goes to sea again this day.
I will keep the lighthouse in sight.
Just to be safe.

A beautiful poem Michael. A touch of magic and sadness. Love Simone :)
A lovely poem written with great feeling. I love the lighthouse being brought into it it goes so well. Love Ernestine XXX
Your first stanza hooked me. It is exactly how I feel about the sea. The lighthouse is the frosting on the cake. This is a fine piece. Raynette
