Like A Dog
Like a dog whose just been scolded
she lays her head down in shame.
Her eyes are fixated upon the floor.
Stupidly she believed your presence was unmistakable,
but your spirit still lingers in the past.
My heart like a vase,
careful not to break.
Your voice like a baby’s cry,
sorrowful yet screeching.
Nobody knows where to place you.
Your feet aren’t stable on the ground; the heels will crack
