My Nose Is Growing Old

Yup.
A long lazy September look
in the mirror
say it's true.

I'm 31
and my nose is growing
old.

It starts about 1/2
an inch
below the bridge
and strolls geriatrically
down
for another inch or so:
stopping.

Fortunately, the rest
of the nose is comparatively
young.

I wonder if girls
will want me with an
old nose.

I can hear them now
the heartless bitches!

"He's cute
but his nose
is old."

Dear Ali Thankyou for your kind words to me. You ask if I can give you any advice on your poetry! Yes, I can, You are being very open and honest about the way that life has moved or is moving you. Please remember that we are all on a path, some push us out of the way, some say excuse me please, and some follow patiently behind. It's all about our perception and attitude towards other people and where we fall in the moment at that time. Your words are how you feel. Our words are often a reflection on how we view the world. I do have alot of faith and I do believe that it is the hardest road. Try and find a calmness in yourself and then you will find a calmness in your words. You write with such passion and have sooooooooooooooooooo much tallent. If you really are just 18, then all I can say is that you have MUCH to offer. Please do me a favour by informing me of your next poem.Love and life, and from the words of a great friend of mine, 'BLUE SKIES AND GREEN LIGHTS TO YOU'....Love Duncan
