Like Minds

Poem By Michael Ernst

Two like minds and hearts
In such assures plight
One can never be wrong
The other must always be right

Over opinions or thoughts
Let communication combat begin
To the victor go the spoils
May the cruelest verbal assassin win

Once the battles are over
And emotional casualty counts done
The two hearts and minds realize
They both lose, neither has won

Loss Of...

Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of dreams, the dreams of tomorrow
Loss of the moments you two should have shared
Loss of opportunities to show her you cared

Love Adrift

How I long to feel the waves of your love crashing upon the shores of my soul again.

Washing and smoothing the rippled sands of my internal strife,
leaving me speechless, stunned at how your every word and movement penetrates me, filling my world with wonder and beauty.

Lost my wife
Lost my best friend
Lost my lover where will it end

Always You

It was you..always you
from the moment that we met
It was you.. always you
that night I'll not forget

My Existence

I watch as the sun sets and feel the burning of its weight upon my empty chest
I feel the labored pulsing of my broken half heart, as it tries to push what life is left inside me through deadened veins

The distant wails of a shattered soul in search of its missing yet omnipresent mate echo in the caverns of my mind that once held only hopes and dreams

Excuse me. Can you help me?
I have a few questions. Do you have a minute?

What is love?
