Lonely Joy

Three A.M.
and the humid night
weeps softly
like a child.

A homeless man
smiles on the car-whispering boulevard
as I hand him a sandwich
from a twenty-four hour restaurant.

I remember
my childhood friends
like familiar songs
playing on the ancient transistor.

Life is a lonely joy
we celebrate and endure.

Compelling care and compassion. Well done my friend!
Scenes portrayed skillfully in narrative poem. Great mixed images freeverse style. Pls do review my latest poem too.
Just yesterday, while listening to old songs, the flood of summer days gone to the seclusion of stored up memories, came back unexpectedly...a postcard from my past. Your words echo the longing and loneliness I felt. You craft your emotions with such honesty. PEACE
I love the atmosphere you created with this beautiful piece.
