Longing For Love

One day
I spread out my white satin veil
With both my arms
And stood beneath the nightsky
Closing my eyes
Longing for love.

I felt from the sweet fragrance
Some red rose petals had floated in
From somewhere,
But, when I opened my eyes,
I saw
A thorn had come along as well,
And slit my veil at places
I could never mend.
