Looks Like A Fairy Tale

Looks like a fairy tale

It was a winter midnight
Far from the glow of city lights
Down past the old dilapidated house
Came a pathway that led
To an old railway station
Surrounded by crisscross lines
And handful of quarters
To which I had not been
Alone but with a kin
To receive a guest from distance
The moon was hanging over the place
And a mild breeze was blowing
Sending a chill among leaves and us
Not a soul was in sight
And we were waiting for the train
And for the guest to alight
Came late but at last the train
And the guest embraced us with grin
Now we were making our way home
The darkness was coming fast
As we were already late for home
Soon we came upon that forlorn house
We could hear music
Coming from that haunted place
We could see lights off and on as well
As we were coming closer to that place
We could hear people laughing
We could see their shadows dancing
Silent, sinuous and bent
Though not a human soul was in sight
We reached home with a heart
Beating, pounding and racing
And saw the guest missing
As we kept asking what it might be
It seemed we were being haunted by a spirit

Interesting tale....! Though we know that such scenes are just a figment of our imagination, they fill us with a sense of horror! It is also interesting to listen to such ghost stories! You have suceeded in creating an eerie atmosphere in the poem! Enjoyed!
