Lost Hand, Reward

Lost Hand, Reward

A hand is useless when not locked into another
Otherwise, all that is performed is labor.
A little boy trots down the street with mommy
A teenager feels like she's never even imagined
An unconnected hand only does labor
Stuff that you think will make you happy
Study for the test, Get that promotion
Six figures is an appropriate price
For a soul that is lost,
And looking in the wrong place.
Get all the things you'll ever want.
A hefty bank account, A luxury vehicle.
The unlocked hand will sign the papers.
Gee I have leather seats, nothing is empty
Except my cold, lonely hand
All it really needed was
Another hand to slow it all down
Into perspective.
