Lost In Translation

Poem By YURI DURAAN

'I'll phone... I'll write...'

You never promised,
but you said.
The empty words
now reverberating
in my head.

You never phoned...
You never wrote -
rendering your words
meaningless when
you spoke.

In my mind
a repeated incantation -
somehow, my love,
I've lost you
in translation.
