Knife

- - -
Memories
Get sliced down into
Umpteen pieces

Who handles
This merciless time knife?

One shattered piece,
Translucent,
Picked up,
It cries your face
That kept smiling
A yonder time back

More pieces
On the depleted
Marble floor

I do not want to pick
Another
Who would know better
Than me, none of these
Would smile back?

A love piece
That was broken
Into splinters
When the marble floor
Was polished
All shine,
Does it try
To come alive?

The ghost of it cries,
Pathetic
Trying In vain to smile

All my sympathy there
