Lush Life (A Devilish Letter)

A world of strife.
A battered wife.
So much to see,
this dying place is for me.
A random shooting.
Political looting.
It goes on…and on.
Heat waves in Bath.
Big buildings collapse.
I’m taking it all down
as I go town to town.
A child can be torn,
before it’s been born.
And there’s still time for sun.
An adulterous affair,
A little girl with no hair.
I wish I could stay,
I’d show you dismay.
With all that I see, oh
…what a lush life for me.
