Magic Link

Oh where, oh where has our love gone?
a love we shared, a love that shone
and made us happy through each day
just like a bird, it has flown away.

The sorrow of losing the invisible magic link between lovers wonderfully depicted along with the hope of it's resurfacing just like paradise lost and paradise regained.
Exactly how I am feeling right now! Great poem Joyce! Also Congrats! !
So sad.... when the lovers part ways. But there is a ray of hope towards the end and that is where the real beauty of this poem lies. Enjoyed reading it. Thanks, Joyce.
The closing is my favorite and the most heart tugging of all, wonderful to read out loud, a great member poem of the day.
Congratulations, Joyce. Like Kim, I like your last lines - they really reach out to the heart.
Where has our love gone? Nice work.
Nicely done, Joyce. Congratulations on having it selected as poem of the day! I especially like the last verse: But come not back in winter snow when trees are bare and cold winds blow. Just come to me in early spring as tulips bloom and skylarks sing.
true love never to tears..
Congrats, Joyce. Well done .
Sweet sentiments. I enjoyed reading this.
Very beautiful poem. Beautiful rhyme and has a smooth flow too.
'But come not back in winter snow when trees are bare and cold winds blow. Just come to me in early spring as tulips bloom and skylarks sing.' Very beautiful lines.. Love is for every seasons, but I guess you used 'winter' as a metaphor for your state of the mind.. Your love must come back when your mind is fresh and not when you are in a state of pain, or going through a rough patch.. While many people, in their poetry, equate the one they love with their well being entirely, you present a more realistic yet Romantic perspective on love.. Thank you for sharing Joyce..
