Man's Love Has Been Preserved
Poem By Allen Anderson
If evolution calls forth
Eyeless men, born with small mouths and strong hands
truly it is the evolution of our stoney construct
not of the people
Before the time of such security though,
Man extended hope to heaven.
And with wide eyes awaited a descending
miracle to roll off the lips of God
that would lay shroud to their indecision and
leave them no option, but
During this, the time of thier
Idle misunderstanding, and vain anticipation,
and fell from the esteem of hilltops, and
from the humble grace of mossy shires.
It was centuries after the last
(enough time to forget
what it felt like, but
not what it was like to feel)
When Man's love was preserved
in great monumental buildings that grew
from the empty chests of blindmen.
