Poem By Edward Boyd

Keep the things you know in pieces marie
Keep the pieces of things away from sight
haloed fools are measured by the shiny
Poor fools that hang today to rise tonight.
if lazurus here in august shadows
offered up his phoenix soul; smiling still
stepped back to the shiny blade or gallows
would you defend your right to have him killed
marie when you defend your right to stand,
for your rights; trampling others as you must
is lazurus again the shiny man
now risen, formerly consigned to dust

measure your faith marie, before you lie
In your measured world; faithlessly disguised.
