Mask

Poem By William Leppo

The air we breathe
Thoughts to retrieve Karma to common
The aura selectively summoned Nights revealed by day
Shrouded gaiety, frivolous play Reality, clouded by dreams
Eternity, life's main stream Blessed by the stroke of luck
Ugliness beyond any tuck Wakened by the task
Who is behind the Mask

Mother

She arrived at sight
Engulfing my form upon first light Soft sounds emerged from her presence
A calmness that emitted pleasance Her spectrums, an array of beauty
An existence where birth, her only duty A soul on which we feast

Death

The skeleton on the prairie, bleached by the sun
The window dressed in black, left with a son A flower arrangement, shriveled and dry
The weeping willow that couldn't cry A sore in the eye of the universe
The last unicorn, it didn't give birth A shroud covering eternal sleep
