Poem By نزار قباني

Memory has a funny way
Of playing tricks on you,
Whatever you think you know,
Are you certain of it too?

I wrote a poem some months ago,
Of Memories from my first school,
My teacher’s name, I thought I knew,
But mistaken was I too.

This poem I was about to present
To the Lord Mayor of Nottingham,
To check the name I did go to do,
Before Inscribing the Poem too.

Luckily I did, for Lo and Behold,
The name was not what I thought.
Change it I did, luckily,
As the error would have made me distraught.

Memory is a funny thing,
We must always check continually,
Before writing poems of past events,
Lest havoc is caused for you and me.

Onomatopoeia

The clouds do darken, the rain does drop
I wonder when its going to stop.
The pitter-patter of rain does fall
Against my windows, against my wall.

Why are we addicted to Poetry?
We Poets who write,
All day or all night,

I Will Obey Him Whilst I Can

I wander down my Path in Life,
Glad that HE has made me so,
Content to live it as HE wishes,
Knowledgeable of HIS Will Sublime.

In Praise Of Fellow Poets

I have met many poets on these sites,
English speaking from around the World,
Who place their poems on these Urls,
Day-by-day, and night-by-night.

My 'Get Up And Go' Just 'Got Up And Went'

My ‘Get Up and Go’
Just ‘Got Up and Went’
It wasn’t intentional,
It must have been Heaven sent.
