Misunderstood, the child lies
under a blanket of pure lies
shivering, shaking under the weight
screams, then silence as she waits
forgiving those untruthful at all
wishing she was like them
but if she were, would there be pain?
would her tears fall like rain?
and she never quite gave up
her dreams, never real enough
shattered, her mirror once broken
unhappy with the image, her faith now broken
singled out, protests of hers unheard
taken away from the truths unspoken
she's hidden away from the camera lenses
hidden by the misconceptions
